I received my beta copy of Topaz B&W Effects and I have to say I love it. There are so many presets and lots of different looks can be achieved from the filter. Below is some info from the company but WOW- it is a fun program that is very versatile. I created the image above by using multiple filters from the new plug-in. It is very user friendly just like their other plug-ins are. Below is the original image I started with.

Denise, if that’s indicative of what is possible with the new Topaz plug-in, they’re going to have a winner on their hands. It’s a wonderful base image…and the contrast, tone and color you achieved with the new plug-in puts it over the top. Looking forward to seeing more examples from this.

Thanks John, I can’t wait to have more time to play around with it. There are lots of possibilities with this one.

  2. would you say it was more extensive than NIK Silver Efex?

Cynthia, I would say that it is different than Silver Efex-which BTW I love. This plug-in also offers some creative effects including “camera shake”, simplify, painterly, etc.. I hope to post more soon.

Andrea, Thanks and I agree with you- they do have some great products and so does Nik.
