Designed by the renowned architectural firm of Carrére and Hastings Cairnwood evokes the grandeur of the Gilded Age with its intimacy, beauty and elegance. Cairnwood is located in historic Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania near the border of Bucks and Montgomery Counties. The grounds are 16 miles from center city Philadelphia and are easily accessible from Interstate 95, the Philadelphia Airport, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Cairnwood is part of a private college campus and shares its grounds with the Glencairn Museum and the Bryn Athyn Cathedral. Next to the house and grounds are the pristine woodlands of the Pennypack Nature Preserve, which represents the largest private reserve in Montgomery County, and serves as the anchor to this graceful campus of architectural wonders. The grounds of Cairnwood were designed by Charles Eliot of the firm of Olmsted, Olmsted and Eliot, responsible for the design of Central Park in New York City and the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina.

Join Denise Ippolito for a photography workshop at this magnificent estate. We will have 3 hours to photograph both the inside and outside of this architectural masterpiece as well as the grounds
without the general public. Cairnwood will be lavishly decorated for the holiday season. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for snow!

  1. Denise, this place looks beautiful. It looks like it would be a very productive shoot. I’d like to see the outside view done as a mini-world :)
