The image above was captured at Bosque del Apache in New Mexico. This is just one of the many colored skies that folks going to Bosque this year will hope to have. I was amazed at how many different colors and patterns there were in the sky at Bosque. Each morning we would set up for these spectacular sunrise colors and we were never disappointed. I am looking forward to getting back there in November where I will lead a creative workshop for 3 days. We will concentrate on these gorgeous colored skies as well as lots of flight photography and everything in between, I hope you can join me. See my workshop page for more details. Below is one of the poems I wrote sfter returning from my trip last year. The poem is published in my “Impressions of Bosque del Apache” eBook.

Bosque Blue

A nip of cold in the air
Fire and ice everywhere
Bursts of color fill the sky
Cranes and geese fly way up high

Echoes heard from calling cranes
Snow Geese blast-offs come like rain
Through the mist and willow trees
Rolling scents fill up the breeze

Sunlight peeking through the clouds
Flocks of geese are stirring loud
Coyotes waiting at the edge
Raptors flying over head

Fields of cranes are taking flight
Just before the days last light
Orange skies and mountain views
Ever changing color hues

Darkness falls like heavy snow
Blurry scenes and embers glow
Whipping winds and dusty air
How I wish that I were there…
