Lotus Bloom ~ Topaz Simplify, Cartoon filter
CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO SEE A LARGER VERSION
Topaz Simplify is an inexpensive Photoshop plug-in. I usually use the BuzSim filter to add a bit of an illustrated look to my images. Lately I have been playing around with the Cartoon filter and the blend modes. For the Lotus Bloom above I used the Soft Light Blend mode after applying the Cartoon filter found inside Topaz Simplify. Then I added the texture overlay to the image to finish it off. I like the playful look that the Cartoon filter gave the bloom. It really juices up the colors so you may need to reduce the opacity of the saturation.
Tree Lined Path ~ Grounds for Sculpture, Hamilton NJ
I used the Topaz Simplify BuzSim filter for the image above. I have always loved the effect of the filter on trees, leaves and branches. I lowered the opacity of the filter layer to 78%.
Snow Lined Path ~ Island Beach State Park
I used the Topaz Simplify BuzSim filter again for the image above. I liked the full effect of the filter on the snowy tree lined path.

Cartoon filter…would have never thought! Very nice treatment. The overlay works well with the subtle green in the lotus. Great job on the others, too.
Hi Don, I really like the way the Lotus Blossom turned out, thanks.

Beautifully processed Denise. This is the second simplify post today. I have it but have not ever tried it. After seeing these images, I will have to experiment.
Thank you Len for stopping by, I think you will like the filter.

Denise, love the effect the simplify filter had on these. They all look lovely! The lotus bloom is my favorite of the three, the cartoon filter and the texture overlay work very well together in this image.
Thank you Andrew, I appreciate it

Fantastic shots Denise. I sometimes use the Bizsim filter as well but haven’t really tried the Cartoon filter. I think I may have to now.
Thanks Edith
I never use to use it but I have found lately that I like it very much.
