Homer Alaska ~ Bald Eagle
This image was captured before it started to snow, it was raining and sleeting.

Homer Alaska ~ Bald Eagle
I added snow with the Dave Seeram action that I gave out in one of my past monthly mailers. I also created a separate layer to which I added some soft white brush strokes at between 20 and 40 % opacity to create some soft blurred snow. I also added some smaller brush strokes at 100% opacity.

Don’t forget to enter ~ THE BIRDS AS ART 1st International Bird Photography Competition
Wow!
Thanks Jake, It really was a wow moment for me seeing these beautiful majestic birds, then it snowed like crazy and the scene was gorgeous:)

What a difference. No contest.
I haven’t, yet, used that action (don’t want to even think about snow, this early), so I’m not certain what it added and what you did with the brushes. However, I’m reasonably sure, and it looks like you took it up another notch.
Thanks Dennis, It really is a matter of tweaking the snow to get the desired look. I was lucky to have several reference shots to go off of as I re-created the look.

Perhaps I have not been on with you long enough. If you can, please share this action with me. I would love to have the chance to play with a few shots like this.

Steve, Welcome to my blog. I sent you the link. You should get it any minute.

Nice improvement. It could be the image for a patriotic Season’s Greetings card.
:~)
Don
Thanks Don, much appreciated. I might use it for my Holiday Card since I have room for text!

WOW incredible Denise. You did a fantastic job. What a majestic creature.
Thanks Edith for the kind comments and the tweet!

Hi Denise, this is wonderful! I, too, must have missed the Dave Seeram action. If possible, would love to have it as well. Thanks! Phyllis
Thanks Phyllis, Glad you got the action, I’d love to see one of your images that you use it on

Great job on the processing Denise…very nicely done.
Thank you very much Carl, I appreciate it

Excellent, Denise! I am so green with envy for the shots you’ve been getting, just wonderful.
Thanks Ted, much appreciated!

Hi Denise, love the added snow…quite lovely! The rock face for a backdrop is very nice also. Hope you didn’t get too much snow in NJ the other day. Today was lovely here at 20 degrees Celsius…no sign of snow yet.
Thank you Andrew, No snow at the Jersey Shore- darn, I was looking forward to some snow shots!

Hey Denise! Real nice execution of the snow effect, and the “large” flakes you added make for a realistic 3D effect. The result is a much more dramatic and pleasing photo. Great job!
Thank you Scott, I appreciate the kind words, we should get together soon

I’d call it Christmas Delivery. I like the processing and the added DOF. Nicely done, and I think I’ll have to apply it to something for sure! Best, deb
Thank you Deb, I appreciate it- great title

Very clever processing indeed and so apt for the subject. How long id the processing take?
Thank you, It only took a few minutes, the action on it’s own needs some tweaks. The next time I do this I will create an action with my additional brushstrokes added to it.

A great shot and a well used action to create snow. Beautiful.
Welcome to my blog, Thank you so much
