Longwood Gardens ~ Blue Hydrangea

I created this image at Longwood Gardens in PA during my Christmas Spectacular Workshop last year. I was hand holding my camera with my 24-105mm lens attached. It is kind-of a zoom /twist. Can you guess the shutter speed I used? Of course this will be a wild guess but it’s all in fun. The first person to guess correctly will receive a copy
of “A Guide to Pleasing Blurs” that I co-authored with Art Morris. If you already have the eBook then I can send it to one of your friends. It will make a nice holiday gift! You must post your guess in the comment section and not in a private email to me to be eligible :) . One guess per person, please. I will announce the winner later on this evening. Good Luck!!

Happy Holidays.

  1. Hello Denise I must say I really love the colours in this shot and the very well controlled burst in this composition of yours. Very well done! I am guessing its 0.6 seconds.I am sure whoever gets your book will thoroughly enjoy it if they don’t have it already. Merry Christmas!

    Hi denise
The twist/zoom effect is right on, beautifully soft, as well as some detail. I’ll say .8sec

  3. Dennis BIshop says:

I’m guessing 1/30 sec. Hard to figure out without knowing how fast you were rotating. Whatever it was, it sure worked.

  4. Ken Childs says:

This is tough because I’ve obtained similar results from anywhere between 1/5th and 1/60th of a second. I’ll say 1/50th because my real guess has already been posted by others.
