Yesterday I went to LensCoat.com to meet up with Scott Elowitz the owner of the company. He had asked me to lunch and I was anxious to talk shop with him. Scott is a very accomplished photographer and he and I know a lot of fellow photographers, it’s always nice to catch up on what everyone else is doing. I have always liked the LensCoat products for both their protection and sleek design. On the last day of my Nickerson Beach workshop last summer I dropped my 5D that was covered in a LensCoat – BodyBagTM off the tailgate of my Land Rover. My camera fell straight down onto the concrete and I cringed. I was afraid to even look. I took the BodyBagTM off and to my amazement there was not a scratch on it and it worked fine and still does. They are made from 100% closed-cell neoprene which added just the right amount of cushion for the fall. LensCoat manufactures all kinds of covers for cameras, lenses, tripods, etc… If it can be covered with neoprene chances are Scott has it covered! BIRDSASART Store carries a large variety of the LensCoat products. I don’t make a penny from the sale of any of these products but I love them and use them and want to share their value with all.

As you know, I have all of my gear protected by and/or stored in LensCoat stuff. And thanks big time for the link
. Is Scott getting out and making any pictures? (He is a quite skilled photographer.)
He just got back from shooting raptors with Alan Murphy. He has a friend coming up from Maryland that he plans on bringing to the Barnegat Jetty.

I would have freaked out. Glad this product did the trick. And thanks for sharing the info. Kate

Denise, thanks for the info on the Lenscoat products. I know the sound of camera gear crashing to the ground. Once, I had a zipper fail on one of my backpacks as I lifted it up from the ground and my 80-400mm VR crashed onto the bedrock…OUCH! Several hundred dollars later it was repaired.
Yikes!!!

Yeah, i’ve been looking at getting one of their actual “lens” coats for my 70-300L.
I have all my gear covered now!!
