Here is my second attempt at the Fishing Pier, still not what I had envisioned but I will get lucky one day with the colors :) . Three image HDR capture processed in Photomatix Pro15% savings by using the code Birdsasart and Nik Color Efex use code BAA for 15% savings.

I converted this to B&W in Photoshop and then added a few of the Nik Color Efex filters including Glamour Glow and Low Key.

Here I went in tight for a different look. I converted this in Photoshop and added a slight tint. I have an idea for a different shot but will have to wait till I go out and brave the cold again :) .

Terrific images Denise. The different perspectives really give a good feel for the subject. Love the sky and color in the first image.

You sure achieved a wonderful effect in the second one. The tinting is great because of the sand, but it would also look good in other images converted to black & white.

I haven’t, yet, figured if you put some blue back into the sky or if it’s my mind doing it.

Dennis, the funny thing is I spent more time on the second one than I did the others. The color tinting needed to be just right. :)

  4. Denise,
I love the top image. I think the monochromatic sky with the touch of red in the distance works perfectly with the browns of the pier. Love it as a color image much more than B&W.

Thanks Vinnie, I liked your Manhattan zoom blur blog post today! :)

Also a very nice picture! I liked the one you had the other day better but this is also a very, very nice picture. The lighting and the clouds make it. The perspective is also very nice. I don’t know how you could make it any better. I think it’s a matter of being there sat the right time. You know how to capture the picture perfectly.

Peter, Thank you for sharing your thought. I appreciate it :)

I love the first one – the colours are mellow and gentle. The lines in the third are dramatic, and in this one I am sure monochrome simplifies the image, and that works really well.

    Thanks so much Andy! :)

Very nice compositions Denise. I prefer the color shot. Your monochrome version(s) are still nice (I like the drama) and set a totally different mood. The change of aspect ratio makes a big difference.

Mark, welcome to my blog. I appreciate the kind words. :)
