I went to a hot air balloon festival with Noreen Buckley this past summer. I never posted this image but I really liked the POV. The day was cloudy and overcast and the balloons were not able to go up without tethers. If you look closely you can see the shadow of the two people holding the balloon as it was being filled. Folks with paid access were able to walk around and talk to everyone that was working there and ask questions and of course photograph. I liked watching the balloons fill and the way they billowed was appealing to me. I used On One Software to process this image.

    Love the site of the balloons taking flight, on past visits to similar festivals. Love the image and the subject of the balloons bag. Would love to see the inflated version. Maybe you could post on BFN, if you were able to get that.

    That is a great hot air balloon image. For many reasons, but primarily because it’s not at all what I expected. It was a wonderful surprise.

    Great image, Denise. Love the colors and lines, as well as the placement of the “eye” of the balloon in the bottom-right corner.

    Denise, love the comp and the overcast light illuminated the inside quite nicely. Sometimes they land in the field behind my home. I always know when they are in the air above my home because Koko goes bonkers! :)
