Wakodahatchee Wetlands is located in Delray Beach, Florida, the park was created on 50 acres of unused utility land which was transformed into a wetlands ecosystem that is open to the public. The name, Wakodahatchee, is derived from the Seminole Indian Language and translates as “created waters.” There is a boardwalk that allows access to visitors so that they can walk around the waters at Wakodahatchee. I decided to create some images of the patterns that were reflected in the water by the boardwalk. I didn’t need to slow down my shutter speed since these were reflections, they had a nice painterly, blurred look to them already! Wakodahatchee is also a great place to photograph birds, while we were there we saw tiny Anhinga chicks in the nest.
