Another Visit to Charleston, SC

After my last visit to Charleston, South Carolina I knew it would not be long before I returned again. However, even I didn’t realize how much I would miss the place. The trees with the Spanish moss captivate me. I have been here now for a couple of days, my first day was spent at Middleton Place. I was looking to create some “not so familiar” shots of the area. I enjoyed a glorious walk through the garden and grounds. I was a total tourist and I loved it. The very top scene is of the entrance gates as I first drove in. Middleton Place is next to Magnolia Gardens. I took the image into Topaz Impressions and added a painterly look to the back-lit composition. Please click on the images to see the larger view.

I photographed the couple above standing at the edge of a pond. I saw the shot as was walking by and couldn’t resist taking it. I met up with the couple and found out they were visiting from London and wanted to see Middleton Place before the baby arrived 🙂 .

What you do with trees continues to amaze me. I love the Topaz added for the painterly look.

My favorite was the 2nd photo of those very large trees. Would it be possible for you to also post the lens used and f stop?

  4. Hi Denise,
Your images of the live oak trees with Spanish moss are breathtaking. I’ve seen these trees in Northern Florida near Ponte Vedra and they are a challenge to capture. Thank you for sharing. Regards…Marc

Hi everyone, thank you all for your very kind comments. I am so tired-hitting the sack now!

I shot all of these with the Canon 24-105mm lens and the Canon 5D Mark III, thanks 🙂
