Venice Italy ~ May 2018

Join Denise Ippolito for A Creative Adventure in Venice, Italy ~ May 12th – May 16th, 2018 (5 nights). $3950.00 per person based on double occupancy. Limit 12/ 6 spots available

During this photo tour we are staying in the heart of San Marco which can be very expensive. This will place us within walking distance to many of the various sites that we will visit. Some groups stay well outside of the island of Venice to cut costs however we feel it is imperative to be in the center of San Marco so that we do not waste valuable time travelling back and forth every day.

My assistant this year will be Cheryl Slechta, Cheryl is a moderator in the Out-of the Box forum on an online site designed for creative photography. I use to work on that same site and years ago, I hand picked Cheryl to be my assistant on that forum. Now I am bringing her in as my assistant for this workshop. Cheryl lives in Venice part time and enjoys her intimate walks through the city at all times of the year. She loves the culture and “old world feel” as much as I do. When you put together all of the different elements that make up Venice it becomes a fantastic photographic location.

This will be a walking tour of the city and do know that we will walk to most locations, taking advantage of the photo opportunities between locations. We will also be travelling via Vaporetti system to some of the spots. We will most likely be getting up early and returning to the hotel for our lovely breakfast.

During our post processing time we will demonstrate creative ways to transform your individual images into works of art. We’ll also spend time during our image review sessions sharing our thoughts about composition, depth of field, creative techniques, processing options and much much more. This will all be done in a group setting and everyone is encouraged to participate.

Included:
Hotel Room- Superior Deluxe Double with either a double bed or two twin beds. Private Bath. Free Wifi., Venice city tax
Breakfast included daily.
Vaporetti- (public water bus transportation) – we will be purchasing a weekly ticket for everyone

About Venice:
Venice is a rare gem, perhaps it should be designated as a Wonder of the World. It is a series of islands situated in a marshy lagoon along the Adriatic Sea. The city is connected by over 400 bridges; there are no cars, only boats. It has a reputation as being one of the wealthiest and most powerful cities in the world. Unique in character, rich in artistic, architectural and musical contributions.

The facades of buildings and ornate palaces are gloriously Gothic, with influences of the Moors and Byzantines. All along the Grand Canal one can photograph these buildings which precariously stand at attention along the waterway.
The city remains the epitome of opulence, the style bordering excessive; colors and textures exemplifying Rococo designs. Venice is famous for its glass, fashioned as it was with ancient techniques passed on from generation to generation. Art galleries and events are numerous, musical venues honoring local composers such as Vivaldi, are performed routinely at various locations throughout the city.

Deposits and cancellations:
An $800.00 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a spot. Balances are due 3-4 months before the date of the Workshop and are also non-refundable. In view of the above, please check your schedule carefully before committing. If I do not receive your check for the balance on or before the due date I will try to fill your spot from the waiting list. If your spot is filled, you will lose your deposit. If not, you can secure your spot by paying your balance. Second payment of $2,000 due 60 days after your initial deposit.  All deposits and balances must be paid by personal check or money order made out to Denise Ippolito. Overseas folks can pay their deposits and balances by wire transfer. The registrant is responsible for the fees on both ends.If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via e-mail. I strongly recommend that you purchase quality travel insurance.

Travel Insurance Services offers a variety of plans and options. Included with the Elite Option or available as an upgrade to the Basic & Plus Options you can also purchase Cancel for Any Reason Coverage that expands the list of reasons for your canceling to include things such as sudden work or family obligation and even a simple change of mind.

When you sign up for a trip you certify that you are in good general health and that you do not have any physical or other disabilities that would place either you or other participants in danger.

A single supplement is available at an additional cost for those who desire their own room. Please note, however, that if we cannot find you a same sex roommate you will be charged the single supplement fee.

*This photo tour needs 8 people to run, please don’t purchase your airfare until it is confirmed.
