Golden Canyon and Red Cathedral

I finally had a chance to walk through the Golden Canyon in Death Valley NP. I was impressed by the view of the Red Cathedral rocks as we walked into the canyon. I also loved the lines and perspectives we saw. Here are a few of my favorites from that hike. They are not grand landscapes and I didn’t have the best light but it was a fun hike and a good scout for lighting and scenes and it gives you a good idea of the way the canyon looked. We did have some clouds that day and the lighting and the clouds changed dramatically from when we first started until we hiked back.

Great images. Your Death Valley workshop is going to be great. Someone from your waiting list really lucked out when I switched from Death Valley to your Falklands workshop. But the penguins took priority for me this winter. Hopefully I will catch your Death Valley workshop another year.

Nice colour. Folks on your Death Valley trip are going to have quite an interesting time. Wish I could be there. 🙂

Death Valley is a magical place with tons of photo opportunities. It requires the photographer to think about the final image and how it will be processed. Grand scenic, lines, patterns, color, etc are all there. Denise your clients will have a magical experience with you guiding them through capture to final output. Wish I could attend.

  4. Such a beautiful landscape…I can see that terrain coming to life under the right light…I’ll have to get out there one day to see it for myself…best of luck with your upcoming workshop at this location!
