I woke up this morning with a need for purple. I love the color purple so I went digging through my files and found this Clematis that I photographed while on my Schreiner’s Iris Garden workshop last spring.
To create the look, I brought my image into Photoshop. Added a slight zoom blur to the outside petals to soften them up a bit. Then I used the Pinch filter to reduce the size of the center. Next I added a texture to the image and blended it a little. The texture added some more blue and softened the background a bit. I also added some Gaussian blur selectively to the flower. Final tweaks included adjusting the exposure and sharpening.
I included my original base image so that you could see the full transformation. I hope you like it and I hope that I inspired you to go through your files and transform one of your own images.
