I first met Kris Morgan when she attended a workshop that I was doing in NY. She struck me as a kind and gentle woman with a creative flair for photography.
Over the years, I have seen Kris’s work and I am always impressed with her natural talent. During my last workshop in Katmai, Kris was sharing her first ever exhibit with the group. Her in-camera blur of a stand of trees caught my eye. Not only have I purchased a 13 x 19 print, but I wanted to share this work of art with all of you. The swirls, color and light are exquisite. Kris has entrusted me with her tiff file so that I can have my printer Michael do the printing; I want to make sure that the color tones and lighting are perfect.
Kris was one of Nancy Rotenberg’s students before her passing in 2011. Nancy has a legion of faithful students that held her in very high regard, they still do. I have had the great honor of working with many of Nancy’s former students over the years and they all have one common denominator, they are all open to learning. That may not sound like much- but it is huge. Without the ability to open your mind to trying new things and truly exploring your field, you will never grow. They all continue to shine and achieve. Nancy would be so proud, after all— she planted the seeds.
About Kris
Kris Morgan is a fine art nature photographer who loves the joys and challenges of photography, and of getting lost in the wonder-filled world of nature.
For Kris, photography is a dance. She has participated in numerous ‘photo dances’ joining, learning, and sharing with accomplished photographers who passionately pursue the 'dance of light'. It is in the photo dance that she continues to grow in the craft and art of photography, to develop her photographic eye, her creative vision, and to explore creative techniques, both in-camera and in post processing.
Her friend and mentor, Nancy Rotenberg continues to inspire Kris to ‘dance’ with a heart open to the gifts that present themselves… To ‘dance’ with a heart filled with a capacity for appreciation… To ‘dance’ with the confidence to create images that ‘make her heart sing’… Kris continues to learn who she is in her ‘dance!’
