NEW EXHIBITION ANNOUNCEMENT:
From the Wild to the Walls of Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., Nature’s Best Photography brings the outside in—inspiring healing for patients, their families, and the dedicated hospital staff.
Dear Denise,
The Nature’s Best Photography staff is proud to announce that you will be featured in our new Children’s National Hospital exhibition, open to the public until December 2020. All of these prints were repurposed from the Windland Smith Rice archives collection that were once featured at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
Displayed on the ground floor of CNH, a collection of 41 photographic fine art prints will immerse patients, families, and staff in the calming beauty of nature.
“Our mission for this exhibition at Children’s National is to share this uplifting visual story with those who may benefit from it the most. These scenes will instantly transport viewers away from the stressful hospital environment and into nature, inviting imagination and joy to become a highlight of their day,” says Steve Freligh, NBP President and CEO.
“These images, and the way they are displayed, have brought new color, excitement, and happiness into the hospital, encouraging smiles, laughter, and playful interactions from patients, visitors, and staff alike,” explains Gregory Scott, CNH Gallery and Exhibition Coordinator. “The photographs and the fascinating stories behind them convey an important sense of balance and peace, especially during this time of COVID-19."
We wish you the best in these trying times as we continue to discover new ways to display the creative talents of nature photographers around the globe for public education, artistic expression, wellness inspiration, and conservation motivation.
Congratulations!
Best,
Amanda Gaquin
