I have recently licensed 20 flower images (not all shown above) to be used by the U.S. Postal Service for two different US postal stamp projects. The first project is a set of tulip stamps titled “Tulip Blossoms” which is part of their Forever Stamp Collection. This series will include ten of my tulip images, it is expected to come out in 2023. The second ten images are an assortment of close-up flower shots that will be featured as another Forever Stamp Collection.
I can’t share much more right now. But I can tell you that at first, I thought it was not true. I didn’t believe it when they contacted me. I had never reached out to them, so this came out of left field. My lawyer and good friend Jim Fennessy checked it all out and confirmed it was legit. Soon after, my heart began to race and the smile on my face got huge!
I have always wanted to have one of my photos used as a stamp but to have an entire collection…beyond words. Then to have two collections-even more astounding! The money, though very generous, comes second to the prestige and sense of pride I feel. My family and close friends have all been very happy for me and understand that this is a lifetime achievement for me. This is such an honor; I am beyond thrilled. I wish my mom were here to see this, she would have been so proud.
So, please keep your eye out for the collections… I have included the mock-up that they sent me. These are not the final images being used, some are just place holders and repeats put together solely for the mock-up. I am pretty sure that they changed the title to Tulip Blossoms instead of Tulip Stems.
