I had some fun in Photoshop with a couple of my images that I captured during my time in Bosque del Apache. I like to create art from photos and one way I do it is to collect source material. I consider source material to be images that I capture for future works. So, if I see a beautiful sky without any foreground element in it I will still capture it. Or in this case, where I saw an epic sky and had not one bird flying through it or a single tree that would anchor the image I still photographed it, knowing that it would be used at another time. I did the same for the lone crane with a nice reflection. It was kind-of ho-hum on its own but I knew because it was captured on a white background, I would be able to extract it from the background easily and use it elsewhere. I combined the two images, in what I would like to consider, an artful way. Hope you like it and yes, the final image is a bit over the top—but the colors were really amazing that morning!
I have included the two base images below so that you could see what I was working with. Both are straight out of camera without any edits applied.
