I am having a blast in Death Valley. My group and I went to Badwater Basin Salt Flats for sunset last night and I am so glad we did! The sky was gorgeous but there was a large pond of water that was dead calm and the mountains were reflected in the water. The salt showed from underneath creating an interesting look. I hope we have time to go back!
I also shot at the sand dunes on the morning before my group arrived. It was great fun and my friend and I got a touch of color. I am looking forward to the rest of the week with my group (they are all very nice!). I am hoping that we have good luck with clouds/weather but if not, we will certainly make the most of our time here. There are no government closures this year and the crowds are back—I was getting spoiled! Still, I know a few tricks for beating out the crowds…
I’ll be sharing some more images as soon as I get some rest. The bottom two images from Mesquite Dunes are shot moments apart with different focal lengths. Can you see the hikers?
